Job Description

    Purpose:

    To perform quality control (QC) review of several medical writing deliverables and appendices as per project requirements, including but not restricted to narratives, clinical study reports, protocols and investigator brochures etc. To participate in project related meeting as necessary.

    Responsibilities:

    To do QC of the medical writing deliverables as per the project requirements. Examples include to look for typographical, grammatical/spelling, formatting, flow and language and general clarity of text. To verify all information and values in the text against the source and to check for consistency of the information within and across the deliverables for the project.
    Identifies project needs and track project timelines
    Complies with Company SOPs and participates in the implementation of new SOPs
    Take ownership of the assigned day-to-day workload for assigned tasks and be flexible for ad-hoc tasks
    To be proficient with medical writing QC requirements and be open to assist writers with guidance on deliverables
    To be pro-active and be open to challenges of mentoring and leading a team QC professionals

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Careful attention to detail and accuracy and be familiar with relevant regulatory requirements for QC of medical writingdeliverables.
    Excellent standard of written English, and ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
    Ability to work on several projects at once while balancing multiple and overlapping timelines.
    Ability to assess workload and keep reporting manager abreast of task allocation.
    Demonstrated abilities in collaboration with others and independent thought.
    Must be computer literate.
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelors degree in a life science-related discipline, communications, technical writing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    Experience within QC with previous employer is an added advantage

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Position may require a significant amount of writing and keyboarding involving repetitive motions with fingers and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
    Position requires extensive use of the telephone and face-to-face communications, which requires the accurate perception of speech.
    Minimal travel is required.
