About the Institute:
Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI) is a premier research institute dedicated to pursue interdisciplinary research on salinity/ alkalinity management and use of poor quality irrigation waters in different agro-ecological zones of the country. The Govt. of India constituted an Indo-American Team to assist the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to develop a comprehensive water management programme for the country. As a follow up of these recommendations, it was decided to establish the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute under Fourth Plan period. The Institute started functioning at Hisar (Haryana) on 1st March, 1969. Later on, it was decided to shift this Institute to Karnal during October, 1969. In February 1970, the Central Rice Research Station, Canning Town, West Bengal was transferred to CSSRI, Karnal to conduct research on problems of coastal salinity.

Qualification –
- Essential – MSc Microbiology/Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/Soil Science/Horticulture with 4 years undergraduate stream or NET under three basic science undergraduate stream
- Desirable – Working experience in microbial isolation and molecular characteriztion
Age Limit –
- Maximum 35 years for men & 40 years for women as on date of interview (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rule)
Duration –
- Up to 31st March 2017/Termination of the project
Emoluments –
- Rs.25,000/- + HRA (20% of the basic) for the first two years and Rs.28,000/- + HRA (20% of the basic) for third year.
Requirements for Interview:
- Application giving full Bio-Data along with attested copies of testimonials, proof of date of birth and two self attested passport sized photographs.
- No Objection Certificate if applicable.

I. The period and duration of scheme is tentative and the same may change.
2. Interested candidates are required to physically present themselves before the interview board on the above mentioned date and address at 11.00 AM at the above mentioned address alongwith their application giving full Bio-data with attested copies of testimonials, proof of date of birth and two self attested passport size photographs.
3. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
4. Persons already in employment should come for the interview with `1\lo Objection Certificate’ from their present employer.
5. The same is uploaded on our website www.cssri.org.
6. The decision of Director of this institute will be final and binding in all respects.
7. The selected candidate shall have no right /claim for regular appointment at this Institute.
8. In case of any disputes, it will be resolved the jurisdiction of Lucknow court only.
