The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore, Karnataka, India. The university was founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore. It opened on July 27, 1916. Its first chancellor was the Maharaja of Mysore; the first Vice Chancellor was H. V. Nanjundaiah. The university became the first outside of the Britain administration in India, the sixth in India as a whole, and the first in Karnataka. It is a state university of the affiliating type, and became autonomous on March 3, 1956, when it gained recognition from the University Grants Commission.

Applications are invited for the following one post Senior Technical Assistants to work in the ICAR sponsored Research Project on "All India Co-oridnated Pearl millet Improvement Project (AICPMW)"- Downy mildew Research Laboratory (DMRL)-Mysore Centre operating at the Department.

Position Title: Senior Technical Assistant

Project Title: "All India Co-oridnated Pearl millet Improvement Project (AICPMW)"

Nature of Work:

• The selected candidate has to take up responsibility of maintain the ICAR­AICPMIP-DMRL Experimental plot, Screening for Downy Mildew Resistance in Pearl millet lines, maintaining of different pathotypes of downy mildew pathogen in the green house and in the tissue culture system and assist in research and development activities connected with Biology, Epidemiology and Disease Management of Host-Pathogen Interaction.
• The candidate should also take the responsibility assigned by the Principal Investigator from time to time.

Essential Qualifications:

M.Sc in Botany/Applied Botany/Agriculture/Biotechnology/Microbiology with I class and specialization in Plant pathology/Plant Breeding/Genetics/Plant Biotechnology

Tenure of The Post: The Post is purely temporary basis and tenable up to 31'¹ March 2016 or till the end of the Project, whichever is earlier.

Emoluments: In the pay scale of Rs. 10000-25010500-300-12300-350-14400-400-16800-450­18150 with other allowances as per University rules.
