The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Fellow for
Project entitled : “Assessing potential of community participation in biodiversity conservation of Kalesar and proposed Kund Community Reserve, Haryana” purely on contractual basis for a period of two year.
The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Fellow is as provided below :
Job Title : Project Fellow (one position)
Duration : Two years
Essential Qualification (EQ) : Master’s degree in Forestry/Wildlife Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Management/Agricultural Sciences/Life Sciences /Botany/Zoology/ or any other subject related to Biodiversity Conservation and Wildlife Sciences with 60% aggregated marks and above from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification (DQ) :
1) Experience of conducting floral and faunal/socioeconomic survey around protected areas. 2) Proficiency in using computers and good writing skill in English language.
Task :
  • Prepare an inventory of the flora and fauna/socioeconomic status and resource dependency of local people around Kaleshar Wildlife Sanctuary and Kund Community Reserve.
  • Conduct soil water analysis
  • Prepare land use land cover maps on GIS domain.
  • Conduct stakeholders analysis and workshops and derive sustainable livelihood options for the local people.
Age : Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.
Emoluments : Rs.25,000 + Admissible allowances as per WII’s rule.
Funding agency : Department of Environment and Forests, Government of Haryana
Terms of Reference : The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations as stipulated for Senior Project Fellow.
General Conditions :
1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 30th March, 2016 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.
2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, Ph.D thesis along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
