Due to rising awareness about health, fitness and changing lifestyle, India's nutraceuticals market is likely to touch $6.1 billion by 2020 from the current level of $2.8 billion, growing at compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17 per cent, a study showed.
Nutraceutical product is a food or fortified food product that not only supplements the diet but also assists in treating or preventing diseases (apart from anaemia),providing medical benefits.
The study also estimated that the global nutraceuticals market may cross $262.9 billion by 2020 from $182.6 billion at present, growing at a CAGR of about 8 per cent.
