Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION OF MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST
Qualification: Graduate (Science preferred)/ Diploma in Medical Transcription.
Up to 2 years of experience in the relevant field.
Reporting to: Manager Hospital Administration/ CC-Executive.
Job Duties:
Getting carbon copies of OPD doctors prescription. (Carbon copies)
Entering the same in the physicians module of HIS. (The words/terms, which are not legible, I ask the doctors during their next visit to OPD or if unable contact the respective specialists on telephone and solve the problem.)
Edit the data within a weeks time. (Or else it is locked and I would not be able to edit/add/delete the data.)
Transcribe for approx. 65 OPD doctors.
Task to be completed in the stipulated period of time.
To maintain the accuracy of above 95%.
Filing of the prescription (hard copies) in alphabetical order in a Box file.
Preparing of the medical certificates for the OPD patients as and when needed by them.
Entering data for Cardiac Health Checkup in Cardiac OPD.
Skill Sets:
Verbal Ability/Communication Skill
Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given by the supervisor or head of the department.
To give accurate and tactful explanations to patients and their relatives.
Other Skills
Have an affinity for teamwork.
Technical Knowledge.
Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel.
Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
